I am participating in Oxfordshire ARTWEEKS again this year. My new profile will be available from early February and will be updated through to the festival in May. As usual, my exhibition will be virtual with different perspectives available on my ARTWEEKS profile: artweeks.revad.com and Instagram: instagram.com/codedimages.

Is this the final installation for May? Right now it feels good, but with several weeks to go it is impossible to say. Further inspiration can emerge at any time without warning. . .

The kinetic output from these algorithms has a life expectancy exactly equal to the time you spend viewing them. During that life they will never repeat. When you leave and return a new life is born and that life will be unique. 

Recording a moment as a static outcome is the equivalent of photography (within the algorithm’s world). Recording the kinetic outcome, for a period of time, might be considered cinematography. In both cases, as the artist, I fulfil all the usual roles associated with those mediums (writer, actor, director, producer, casting, props, etc.). We might say the technical platform fulfils some of the actor role and that of the venue. So, when you view on your device, you provide the venue and the ability to act in concert with my script and direction.

Whatever medium I choose to use, my intention is to draw. On your device, you can view many of my outcomes from anywhere in the world. Prints may also be available. If you need a pigeon hole, I work across several art movements, incorporating elements as the enquiry requires. Think abstract, algorithmic, conceptual, concrete, constructivist, and you may find a partially appropriate pigeon hole. You may also think code is the common factor. Whatever you think, I make what I need to make, when I need to make it.
